“They’re in the northern Thumb (and) Saginaw area now, but there’s a cold front coming through”, sad Dan Thompson, meteorologist for the National Weather Service in White Lake. The main hazard Sunday evening will be damaging winds, but large hail, or an isolated tornado is also possible.
Windy conditions continue with wind gusts up to 30 miles per hour.
The National Weather Service had issued severe thunderstorm warnings in areas west and north of Chicago, but the storms passed quickly.
