Samsung’s market-leading phablet line has been an ever-present of IFA conferences in recent years, but that could all be about to change if the latest leaks are to be believed.
It pointed out that Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will be launched with its official name, Galaxy S6 Edge+, together with Samsung Galaxy Note 5 on the same date. On July 6, the company said it expects to experience its seventh straight quarterly decline in profits.
According to a report from TechnoBuffalo, we may have the exact date for the release of the newest Galaxy smartphones. It has already been reported multiple times that it’s pushing the launch to August presumably to compensate for lacklustre Galaxy S6 sales and to fend off competition from the new iPhones.
Samsung has been losing customers to Apple with its high-end products and to Xiaomi with its low-end products.
It’s expected that Samsung will offiically unveil both phones in a month or two.
This is exciting news as Samsung would make the flagship move right before Apple does.
The Galaxy Note 4 is 5.7 inches, making it slightly larger than the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus. The upcoming Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will reportedly be announced in a mid-August event and will be on sale at the market on August 21.
GSMArena is reporting that case maker ITSKINS has provided the site with image renders of the Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus from all angles, as well as including the exact dimensions for both phablets. But, based on the page’s source code, the next Note variants will come with the same 5-megapixel front camera configuration as the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Samsung Pay will allow device owners to purchase things on the go with their smartphones.
