Recently, it was revealed that Robbie Amell would be returning to The Flash, though in what capacity was unclear. For those who don’t recall, Amell was introduced in Season 01 of The Flash as Ronnie Raymond, the man who would become one half of the DC Comics hero called Firestorm.
However, his story took a turn when it was revealed he “died” in the Particle Accelerator explosion that gave Barry Allen his powers as The Flash. However (again), another twist came in when it was revealed he was alive, but merged with Victor Stein, the other half of Firestorm. The two, through the help of Team Flash, were allowed to separate, and thus return to their lives…for a short time anyway.
For at the end of Season 01 of Flash, which continued to Season 02’s premiere, Ronnie apparently sacrificed himself to ensure that Central City wouldn’t die from a black hole in the sky. Thus left fans angry, as they hated seeing Ronnie dumped away again, and by extension Amell.
But, he is coming back, and pretty soon by the sounds of it. Amell talked with Entertainment Weekly and teased his return:
“I was there last week,” said Amell. “I can tell you that my scenes are with Grant [Gustin] and Danielle [Panabaker]. And I may or may not be alive.”
Now, judging by how he’s talking, it implies he is alive in some form despite him saying otherwise. If for no other reason than he mentions Grant Gustin, who plays Barry Allen. They’ve only had a few scenes together. One was when Robbie and Stein were merged, and the other was a fight scene.
However, there could be another explanation, such as hologram, “ghost”, or various other things. What will it be though? Guess we’ll just have to watch Flash and hope we get an answer we’ll accept!
