The propeller pierced the attic and bedroom ceiling in Maria Cebula’s home in Hagaman, New York, around 2 p.m. on Thursday. The owners of the home on Green Acres Lane were not home at the time.

“Came back home and big hole in my room”, she said.

Police say the plane was older and encountered engine trouble as it was flying over the rural village 28 miles northwest of Albany.

No other details on the exact nature of the mechanical problem were released. He has not been charged, according to the local newspaper, The Daily Gazette.

State police say no one was injured when a tour bus carrying 55 passengers caught fire on an upstate New York highway. After the propeller fell off, the pilot was able to glide the plane back to the air strip because he still had proper altitude and distance from the air strip to make it back safely.

A tarp is now covering the hole over Cebula’s home.

Police say a teenager is in custody in connection with the rape of an 82-year-old woman in her Brooklyn home. “They helped me cover the roof, but I was glad I was not home”.

The Federal Aviation Administration, who was notified of the event, will join state police in an official investigation.
