We’ve reached peak X-Game Bro-lympics adrenaline junkiness, and gunning your dirt bike down the face of a wave is (literally) jumping the shark.

Most people settle for surfboards when it comes to catching waves, but Australian stunt driver Robbie Maddison went one step further, bringing a motorbike out to sea.

Maddison used a specially adapted dirt bike to surf waves on the Pacific island of Tahiti to awesome effect, creating an unbelievable video.

The video, titled “Pipe Dream”, was produced by Maddison’s sponsor, DC Shoes. For almost two years Robbie has been focused on making surfing on his motorbike a reality.

Hats off to you, Robbie Madison.

“I had a sickening feeling that this might be the one that kills me.”

In the waters off the coast of Tahiti recently, Maddison took his act to new heights by “surfing” his bike through the waters.

The bike was also fitted with a custom airbag that Maddison could deploy to stop the bike from sinking if he hit trouble. Check out the insane video below and tell us if you ever thought of such a mad stunt?

“I’ve never felt like I was in the wrong place at the wrong time more than I did right there”. I’ve been a surfer for like 26 years.

Maddison told Surfer Magazine he came up with the wacky idea idea while watching his wife wakeboard. “It was a near-death experience”, he added.
