Stewart became a household name for his portrayal of Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation and its subsequent films, but McKellen admits his close friend’s career could have gone in a completely different direction had he heeded his fellow star’s concerns.
Actor Ian Mckellen has missed out on the chance to include childhood love letters he sent to his first girlfriend in his memoirs after learning the woman burned the sweet notes when she tied the knot.
Ian gave a dramatic reading of Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” on Wednesday July 15, as well as Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk” while promoting Mr Holmes, as seen in a Yahoo video. As Stewart quite rightly pointed out, he’s just done a very heart-felt reading of her track Blank Space, while McKellen did a dramatic reading of her latest hit Bad Blood.
Better known for their work in Shakespeare, or at least X-Men, the pair took a break to take the music of Taylor Swift to a whole new level.
Stewart asked so politely too, what with his “May we join the squad?” You’ve made my day.
Taylor replied of course, saying that he and Sir Ian are “ultimate squad goals”.
