Kingsman: The Secret Service, was a very fun, and very dark, comic book adaptation done by Matthew Vaugn based on the classic graphic novel. Though it wasn’t a box office smash in terms of what Marvel and DC Comics does with their films, it was a hit, and lasted a very long time at the box office. Thus, it’s getting a sequel via Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and will star a lot of the cast from the original.
Now though, star Taron Egerton is saying that a scene from the original film, will make it into The Golden Circle, though as to what it is, he wouldn’t say. He also notes that Elton John, who will be in Golden Circle, was originally supposed to be in the original film as well, but also got cut. But they’re bringing him back because Vaughn really likes Elton John.
“Matthew knows and likes Elton, and knows that he brings something that fits the tone of the ‘Kingsman’ world,” said Egerton. “I think I can say that there’s a deleted scene from the first one, that I personally thought shouldn’t have been cut, and that’s now in the second film. But what it is… I don’t think I can say.”
Now, Vaughn has revealed what John’s role in the original Kingsman was. His inclusion was to focus on the celebrities that got kidnapped in order to “preserve the world” during the villain’s (played by Samuel L. Jackson) plot in the film. And he had the idea of Elton John confined in a small room and throwing a temper tantrum.
Now, whether that scene, or that subplot, will be in Kingsman: The Golden Circle remains to be seen. But we will find out on October 6th.
