Abdulazeez said on a graduation photo, “My name causes national security alerts”.
He was stopped on MLK Boulevard on April 20 and cited for not maintaining his lane.
Authorities and officials say the Marines were killed in two separate attacks at military facilities in Chattanooga. He issued his condolences to the four families who lost loved ones.

About an hour after the shots were fired in Chattanooga, McMinn County Sheriff Joe Guy said officers were sent over to the area around the recruiting center in Athens, Tenn., “just as a precaution”.
It happened near Riverside Park and Amnicola Highway.
He said authorities are still trying to determine whether police saw him ram the gates of the center, get into the facility, and shoot and kill the four Marines.
A witness said a vehicle pulled up and the driver brought out a large gun. “They are examining what his connections were anywhere and everywhere”, the mayor said.
His former mixed martial arts coach Almir Dizdarevic said Abdulazeez’s father told him that his son had left the United States to “move back home”.
Corker said that a fifth Marine is “fighting for his life” after the shootings.
One officer is “down” in connection with Thursday’s shooting in Chattanooga, Tennessee, according to Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke.

The Chattanooga mayor says the killings of four military personnel during an attack on two facilities in the city are “incomprehensible”.
“We all mourn the senseless loss of life in Chattanooga”, Nelson said. “As a city, we will respond to this with every available resource that we have”.
Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Ed Reinhold said Abdulazeez had “numerous weapons” but would not give details. Hedrick captured the video around 11 a.m. Thursday. Chattanooga State Community College reports on their Facebook page that the campus is on lockdown.
Amnicola Highway was blocked in both directions. However, though the mall was locked down, police said that there was no shooting in Bradley County.
The father of Abdulazeez was investigated – and cleared, twice – as part of an FBI investigation into terrorism financing, law enforcement officials said. He was rushed to Erlanger, had surgery and is said to be in stable condition.

No flights at the Chattanooga Airport were impacted; the airport has remained open and operational throughout the day.
