To keep the cuteness train going, Prince George wore this adorable outfit looking very Prince William-esque circa 1984.
Then there were the daddy-and-me outfits selected for George’s first meeting with his little sister – William carried his son into St. Mary’s Hospital on May 2, both wearing navy blue sweaters with white collared shirts.
Despite being thoroughly modern royal parents, Prince William and Kate are keen to honor tradition when the occasion is right – and the christening of their baby girl, Princess Charlotte, was the perfect setting. “William’s mother, Diana, may have been absent, but she wasn’t forgotten”.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have said they want their children to have relatively normal upbringings and have closely guarded their privacy, bringing them up in a secluded mansion Anmer Hall, close to the church.
Princess Charlotte has been christened in the Norfolk countryside.
And in a final nod to the late royal, famed photographer Mario Testino was chosen to take the official christening portraits. The baptism took place at the Lily font, a silver gilt vessel which is part of the Crown Jewels and has been used for almost all royal christenings since 1841. Aware of this, the duke and duchess invited the public to a field outside the church to share the moment.
Us Magazine reported that following Princess Charlotte’s christening, her grandmother Carole Middleton will stay with the royal couple to assist in taking care of the newborn. For this event, there was an open invitation and lots of notice, so people were expected to come from much farther afield than the local villages.
Prince George has been awarding his adoring public with his presence a lot lately. Prince William wore the original gown for his own christening ceremony in 1982. No member of the Royal family made it on to an informal list of friends and relatives.
