In this September 23, 2007 photo, Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre reacts after throwing a touchdown pass to Bubba Franks during a game against San Diego. They’ll have EMS staff on hand in case the heat gets to any fans and if severe weather hits, fans would move into the concourse to watch the induction in the atrium.

Favre will be in Madison on Sunday, joining other former Packers at Camp Randall Stadium for a flag football game at 4 p.m.

Favre is set to be just the sixth Packers player to have his number retired – after Tony Canadeo, Don Hutson, Bart Starr, Ray Nitschke and Reggie White.

Rodgers took over in 2008 after Favre was traded to the Jets.

The unnamed beer, which will feature four kinds of hops and four kinds of malt, will be released before the Thanksgiving Day game when Favre’s No. 4 will be retired by the team.

Any apprehension that Favre might have felt about how fans might react disappeared after the response for tickets.

Despite the low prices and thousands of tickets on the secondary market, the Packers still expect Saturday night to be busy.

In February 1992, under then-new general manager Ron Wolf, Green Bay acquired Favre from the Falcons for a first-round pick. He won a Super Bowl there. He was a three-time NFL MVP.

“I couldn’t be happier for him because he’s done so much for the team even though his career ended the way it did with another team, and we’re all sorry about that”.
