The footages of the new trailer opens in a court with the introduction of Superman inside the place. Who cares? Batman and Superman on screen for the first time together with good actors portraying them to boot.

Doubts hounded Affleck when he was first announced as the newest fictional billionaire and philanthropist Bruce Wayne and superhero Batman, but with the release of the newest trailer, he crushed all those doubts. “We’ve done stuff in Man of Steel to launch this conflict”, director Zack Snyder explained during the discussion at the fan-centric convention. There’s even a nod to the Joker as Batman looks upon an old costume of his emblazoned with graffiti reading: “HAHAHAHA”. Superman, on the other hand, called Batman “a one-man reign of terror”.

It was also revealed during Comic-Con that Matt Bomer, of “Magic Mike XXL“, was nearly cast as Superman a few years ago.

While most of the trailer focuses on Batman’s motivations and Superman’s struggle with humankind, there were also snippets showcasing Gal Gadot as Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman.

There were lot of scenes left unclear, why Superman seen kneeling in front of Lex Luthor and why there are so called Superman guards. The movie shows Metropolis from Superman as an affluent city and Gotham from Batman as a downtrodden neighboring city separated only by a bay.

Following San Diego Comic-Con, Warner Bros has released a new picture of Ben Affleck in the role of Batman.

There are also brief shots of Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) in the thick of battle, but it is not clear on whose side she is fighting.

Deadline says Affleck will co-write the screenplay with DC Comics chief creative officer Geoff Johns on the stand-alone Batman movie, which will be the first of its kind since 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises.
