Vic Nicastro/for New York Daily News Police investigate after two people were fatally struck by a Long Island Railroad train at the Hollis Station near Woodhull Ave. and 193rd St.in Queens early Thursday.
At about 7 a.m., the service said it was averaging delays of 15 to 20 minutes east of Jamaica and 20 to 30 minutes west of Jamaica on the four branches.
The train, a 1:46 a.m. Ronkonkoma train due at Penn Station at 3:05 a.m., apparently struck the pair around 3 a.m.as the train was pulling into the Hollis station, according to PIX 11.
More than 100 passengers on the train were able to transfer to a different one and there were no other injuries reported.
The railroad says it does not expect any service to be suspended, but some trains may be delayed during the morning commute. The Hollis station was the scene of a 2013 suicide, where a man and woman in their 20s also lost their lives.
Davon Smallwood, 25, and Ariana O’Neal, 21 – whose mother disapproved of their relationship – lived in Queens Village with their 2-year-old daughter.
